Under this Project, Premature babies who are potentially risky to go blind, are screened by our team of technicians at different NICUs in Government, Municipal and Private hospitals, across 5 districts of Gujarat. Post screening if any baby is found to be potentially moderate or major risky to go blind, treatment is provided accordingly.

Inspired by the success of ROP project, HCF Hospital is expanding to cover additional talukas across Gujarat with the establishment of a second unit. As part of this expansion, HCF Hospital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with G. K. General Hospital, Bhuj. Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences (GAIMS). This partnership will facilitate screening, training, and awareness-raising activities, while treatment will continue to be exclusively provided at HCF Hospital in Ahmedabad.

Retinopathy of adult

Retinopathy of Adults typically refers to retinal diseases that affect adults, the most common of which are diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).

Retinopathy, encompassing a range of retinal diseases, remains a significant public health challenge among adults. Conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) can lead to severe vision impairment or blindness if left untreated. Early detection, timely intervention, and continuous management are critical for improving visual outcomes and quality of life for affected individuals.
